CGFNS Qualifying Exam conducted by Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools tests the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of nursing field. The test is conducted to ensure quality nurses in United States (U.S). It is also a platform where candidates can judge their capabilities to crack U.S. registered nurse licensing exam - NCLEX-RN. All those, who have pursued nursing education from any other country other than U. S and want to pursue career in states have to compulsorily appear for this entrance exam. Scoring well for CGFNS Qualifying Exam is among the challenging tasks. The passing scaled score is fixed as 400. The test is scored by computer, as it is believed to be the most reliable way to score multiple-choice tests. In order to ensure the reliability of the scores, the answer sheets with unusual results are hand-scored as well. For every wrong answer, negative marking will be there. More than one answer indicated against a question will be considered as wrong.
CGFNS Qualifying Exam Score Review Process
In case, the candidates are not satisfied with the scores they can request for another hand-scoring of the answer sheet. The re-scoring exam fee will be applicable. CGFNS will re-score an exam unless and until it is not more than two years old. In order to avail this service, the candidates are required to send the date of the exam that has to be re-scored, CGFNS ID Number, their birth date, name change documentation, sign on the request letter, fee, address the envelope to CGFNS, and mark it “ATTN: Re-Scoring”.
